Essential Oils Restore Voice

I always refer to essential oils as God's little miracles. They have helped me on so many occasions. Here is a case study of one such occasion when I was able to help a young mother have her voice restored.

Teresa is a married, 36 year old mother of two children, ages 5 and 13. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis three years ago. It has caused a lot of exhaustion and pain in her extremities. A little over a year ago, while she was living in Vancouver, she started having problems with her voice. She had had many bouts of sore throat, then one day she lost her voice for no apparent reason and she could hardly speak for two weeks, although her throat wasn't sore at the time.

She saw her family doctor who referred her to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist who said she had vocal nodules. They are compared to callouses on the hands. The nodules were large and organized and could be removed with laser. She was told it was a simple procedure.

Aromatherapy For Aches And Pains

Lately a lot of clients have complained of aches and pains from back and knee injuries, arthritis, joint pain, overdoing it in the garden, sports or just general twinges here and there, tight shoulders and lower back pain.

A good remedy for all of these is Marjoram oil which I use in a blend with several other oils depending on your temperament. The other oils supplement any other tension you may have in the body or any other issues you may need rectified. If you suffer from any aches or pains or have hurt yourself why not treat it the gentle way with oil? Add some lavender and peppermint to relax and refresh you.

How to Make Your Own, Naturally Fragrant Air Conditioner

Peppermint, with its strong, minty aroma, is typically associated with the holidays. Think of candy canes hanging on the Christmas tree and taped to beautifully wrapped packages. Or how about chocolate peppermint bark or peppermint-flavored hard tack candies?

But don't be fooled. This scent of the season is not so seasonal after all. While thoughts of peppermint may evoke feelings of warmth in November and December, peppermint is also for the dog days of summer.

So hot that it's cool, so cool that it's hot

Essential oil of peppermint is known as an adaptogen in aromatherapy parlance. In other words, it adapts to whatever it is you need it to do. Peppermint warms you up when you're cold, and when you're hot it cools you down.

Lavender Oil Health Scents

Lavender Oil is highly regarded for its pleasing smell, making it a popular addition to soaps, fragrances and aroma therapy candles. However, this oil extracted from the lovely lavender plant is more than just a pleasing fragrance. Lavender oil has been found to have many different health benefits from stress relief to joint pain making it a must have oil for everyone interested in holistic health and healing.

Here are some of the ways Lavender Oil can benefit you:

Stress Relief

One of the main reasons that many of us like to burn lavender scented candles is because of the oil's ability to relieve stress and tension. Just a few drops of the oil can help refresh the mind and can even promote sleep when applied to your pillow.

Soy Candles and Their Alchemy

Long ago, candles were important for everyday life, giving a source of lighting after sunset. These days, scented candles are a luxury - using fragrance to create varied moods, while their dancing flame soothes the mind.

Candles consist of two basic elements: 1) a fuel source i.e. wax and 2) a wick. The wick is significant to the candle function as it serves as the fuel delivery system.

A naked flame is used to ignite the wick, which then melts some of the wax at the candle exterior. The liquefied wax is drawn up through the wick fibres by capillary action - this is because of the way soy wax molecules adhere to the wick fibres.

How Ylang Ylang Essential Oil Can Be Used to Experience Your Sensuality and More

Ylang Ylang is the essential oil associated with passionate desire. The sensual feelings the oil arouses swiftly ascend through inhalation to greet the master pituitary gland and enhance romantic ideals. Creating an atmosphere of expectation, sensitivity, and trust can enhance your beliefs about your worthiness of being embraced and loved. This versatile, entrancing oil uplifts you spiritually, calms you yet arouses you. Following are stories of how Martina, Sowei, and Mariah used Ylang Ylang in their lives.

Lovely Martina was an innocent lady, who felt insecure about her attractiveness and expression of her motivations when she met a man who made her feel safe and wanted. Her enthusiasm drifted between her intentions and her past puritanical upbringing. She truly wanted to express her inner nature but held herself back. She heard that Ylang Ylang was historically known in many cultures to ignite sensuality. After experimenting with the oil she allowed herself to enjoy the scent and wore it empowered.

Professional Care Needed for Safe and Effective Aromatherapy

Essential oils have powerful healing properties and have been used to treat imbalances of the mind, body and spirit for hundreds of years.

In aromatherapy massage, essential oils complement a holistic treatment plan which is unique to each individual client. They are highly concentrated plant oils which have a wide range of healing properties which can boost your mood in a variety of ways including, stress relief, boosting energy, detoxifying, decongesting and uplifting.

Calm and slow movements are used to massage the oils into the skin. This enhances physical and emotional wellbeing by encouraging deep relaxation. They are absorbed into the skin during the massage and reach the internal organs through the body's circulatory system.

What Is RainDrop Therapy?

RainDrop Therapy is a soothing healing technique that uses pure Young Living essential oils. RainDrop Therapy combines aromatherapy, reflexology, massage and moist heat to create healing and cleansing through structural and electrical alignment of the body. The purpose of the treatment is to bring about complete relaxation, harmony, and wellness to the mental, physical, and emotional body.

RainDrop Therapy was created by Gary Young. Gary Young has researched aromatherapy and herbal medicine for over 20 years. He credits the creation of RainDrop Therapy to the Native American Lakotas, the Hunza people of the Himalayan Mountains, and the people of Inner Mongolia for his inspiration. The philosophy behind RainDrop Therapy is that the use of specific antimicrobial oils applied in a particular sequence followed by massage and reflexology techniques will reduce the inflammation in the body and destroy any viral presence.

Organic And Pure Essential Oils

Aromatherapy depends on the ability to procure organic and essential oils, which are the essence of certain plants. They are not available on the mass market because deriving the oil is a considerable task, involving not only taking the oil out of the plant, but the process to turn it into actual oil is a complicated procedure, and a different processes are used depending on the plant it's being extracted from. Here is a good explanation of what an essential oil actually is, and how it's produced.

One ancient way of producing the oil is called enfleurage. It dates back to the time of the Egyptian pharaohs, and it's been done in many centuries since. It works on one simple principle: fat dissolves essential oils, and thereby absorb their aroma. But the oil is just what comes off the plant itself. A combination of that essence mixed with fat, but it's only a process to increase its potency, as it's later separated.

Basics of Aromatherapy - Helpful Hints to Get You Started

When using essential oils, it is important to know and trust the source that you get them from.

There are different grades of oils - some are used for perfumery, some in the food industry, and only therapeutic grade oils are used in the legitimate aromatherapy industry.

As a guideline, when purchasing your oils, make sure the botanical name of the plant is on the bottle. For example, Lavender could have Lavandula angustifolia on the bottle. Ginger could have Zingiber officinale.

Sometimes the botanical names will be different, depending on the variety of plant used. For instance, there is more than one type of Sandalwood. One variety would be Santulum album, another would be Santulum spicatum.
